Cold – a Common illness and it’s Symptoms

Cold is the most common illness that every individual get affected with for atleast once in their life time. It’s an upper respiratory infection that is usually caused by a virus and it even affects throat, trachea, larynx and bronchial tubes.

Mostly people fall victim for cold during autumn fall, winter and rainy season.  Several common health symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, muscle ache, mild fatigue and low grade fever can ensure that the person is suffering from cold.

While suffering from cold, an individual must restrict himself from getting contact with the viral particles and they need to avoid touching their eyes and nose with the infected hands. On identifying the cold symptoms, patient can easily get relieved from the cold by taking pain relievers or using decongestant nasal sprays.

In Patients, neglecting the cold for a longer period can lead to several major complications such as Pneumonia, Bronchitis, Sinusitis and Asthma. A medical report shows that nearly 200 different viruses are the main reason for causing cold of which 110 rhinoviruses and 4 to 5 strains of carno virus play major role in spreading the disease.
