Cystitis is another name for bladder infection. It is the infection and inflammation of the urinary bladder. So, it is also called as urinary tract infection (UTI).
Don’t get confused with both the names. Mainly it is a bacterial infection that affects any part of the urinary tract.
There are many types of cystitis among which bacterial cystitis, interstitial cystitis, and hemorrhagic cystitis are few types.
Bladder infection is the most common type of urinary tract infection. Kidney infection is another type of UTI and also called as pyelonephritis. It is a serious condition and if recognized early and treated, you can protect your kidney from damaging permanently.
According to the studies, one in every five women will develop bladder infection. When you are affected with this problem, you will feel like you need to urinate frequently and incontinence is possible. You will also experience burning pain while urinating and you will observe blood in the urine.
Some people think that bladder infection is the result of faulty anatomy or having too much sex. It is totally wrong and it is just the result of an automatic failure to clear the contents of the bladder efficiently during emptying.
Bladder infection can cause urination problems, blood in urine, change in urine appearance, urine with strong odor, stomach pressure, and fever.
Urine retention, kidney stones, and kidney failure are the main causes of bladder infection.
Cranberries to treat bladder infection:
Cranberries give many health benefits. You can find cranberry extract capsules and when these capsules are taken, you will be free from bladder infection. This fruit contains a compound called proanthocyanidins which offer an anti-adhesion property and prevents harmful bacteria from naturally sticking to the urinary tract.
You can also drink cranberry juice. It is a great home remedy to treat bladder infection. The bladder infection is most common in women and is somewhat painful and the juice will give great relief.
Cranberries contain a substance called tannin which helps to stay the bacteria away from sticking to the lining of the bladder. Most of the women will also experience bladder infection even after the medical treatment. In this case, cranberries will greatly help you.
You need to drink seven or eight ounces of the cranberry juice in a day. But there is no evidence that proves about the curing of bladder infection with cranberry juice.
Blueberries can also be used to treat bladder infection and it is theoretically tested.
Deflux to treat bladder infection:
It is a sticky gel which consists of non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid. It also contains dextranomer, which is polysaccharide that promotes the natural formation of connective tissue.
Deflux is injected endoscopically and is normally directed under general anesthesia. This can be easily performed and any incision is not required.
These treatments will greatly help you in relieving from the symptoms of bladder infection.
