Ever one wants a glowing and radiant skin.
Rosacea is a skin disease that can disfigure your skin.
It can cause redness and hard pimples.
At times, it can be misunderstood as acne or sun burns.
Do drinking alcoholic beverages cause rosacea?
In some cases intake of alcohol increases the affect but does not continue and implement others, and no specific reason to prove this.
This is a myth that drinking alcohol causes rosacea. But the main reason behind this is over exposure of your skin to sun light.
- Some times over reaction of the blood vessels in the face
- Genetic factors
- The sun containing UV radiation heat up the skin and cooks the “collagen and elastin” (fibrous proteins in skin).
- The over exposure to UV cause broken capillaries.
- UV rays which are short in length hit the skin surface and yields redness and burning.
Rosacea also affects eyes, but the effect is not threatening. How ever they can appear around the borders of eyes and eyelids and cause inflammation.
Are white-skinned the preys of rosacea?
There are no particular reasons that can prove the above statement, but rosacea is usually seen in white and light skinned women and men rather than brown and dark skinned people.

Pleurisy is often heard from the people who are suffering from acute chest problem.
In medical terms, when the two double membranes that lines the chest cavity and surrounding the lungs get inflammable, it can cause pleurisy.
These membranes are like satin clothes rubbing each other when the lung expand and contract while breathing.
But in the case of pleurisy these satin membranes due to inflammation make themselves rough, irregular and crisscrossing among each other leading the breathing harder and creating a sharp pain at the area of intersection. Almost every time you breathe, the pain can be felt.
Pleurisy connected to Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE):
SLE is also a self immune disease (where the body attacks itself) causing the tissues inflammable and swollen, but it’s not contagious.
The cause of pleurisy is perfectly not known, but it can cause due to viral infection affecting the pleura, a blood clot in the lung or an auto immune disease where the body attacks it self.
Hidden cause of pleurisy:
The exact cause is not known but some underlying medical conditions state that this is caused due to
- Acute viral infections such as influenza
Losing grip on your hand is ganglion cyst.
It can be felt or appears as fluid filled lumps near joints and wrists.
Size can vary and often becomes irritated, swollen and red.
This cyst can be felt as painless lumps.
Are ganglion cysts connected to cancer?
These cysts are non-cancerous lumps and not at all connected with cancer. These cysts develop gradually or pop up all of a sudden. They can be seen in adults of any age and are mainly caused due to the over use of specific joints.
In many rare cases ganglion cysts go away on their own. Not always painless, they some times cause pain, weakness or numbness.
Why is ganglion formed?
The cause of ganglions is not clear. Mild sprains and other repeated injuries at the wrist can tear the thin membrane connecting muscle with bony attachments, causing the fluid leakage to the sac and forming a ganglion.
Playing hand ball, racquetball, tennis or squash results in hand and wrist ganglion cysts. Athletics that jump, ski, play and Running contact sports develop foot ganglions. Regular use and overloading of certain joints with repetitive movements can also cause ganglion cysts.
Cystoscopy is a procedure of detecting your bladder tumors in which a tube or an instrument is inserted into the urethra to see inside the bladder.
In cystoscopy, an instrument called cystoscope is inserted into the bladder from urethra.
It allows looking the tumors which are present inside your bladder that are not identified in X-rays.
Many other surgical instruments are also inserted with the cystoscope which allows the doctor to remove the tissues.
Fluorescence cystoscopy shows enhanced results:
For detection of early stages of bladder tumors, fluorescence cystoscopy is best suited. This kind of cystoscopy with photosensitizing agent gives better results in detecting bladder cancer.
Bladder cancers or bladder carcinoma is difficult to identify with normal cystoscopy procedures. So fluorescent techniques are used, which will help in identifying flat lesions and advances the detection.
Does cystoscopy supports stone formation in bladder?
Formation of stones in bladder after cystoscopy is a very rare case. Detection of the bladder puncture and proper insertion of the sling may avoid such complications.
Meticulous cystourethroscopy with 70 degree cystoscope can be most favorable way to identify the bladder perforation. Rarely cystoscopy will fail to recognize the damage of bladder.
Ulcerative colitis along with crohn’s disease can occur any where in digestive system.
This inflammation mainly affects small and large intestines in the digestive system.
It can be in mouth or in stomach or even in anus. Entire digestive system can be affected with this inflammation.
Ulcerative colitis mainly affects people below 30 years of age.
Main victims of colitis:
Colitis along with crohn’s disease is called as inflammatory bowel disease. This inflammatory bowel disease mainly affects with in 15-30 years of age. Recent study has been made that, this inflammatory colitis is mostly seen in girls.
As girls have a very low level of albumin protein and higher levels of mouth sores, they will undergo intestinal surgery much before than boys.
How regular body functions are disturbed with colitis and crohn’s disease?
This inflammation is mainly associated with abdominal pain, diarrhea and bloating which can be cured with normal medications. If the problem turns to intestinal blockage, then surgery is recommended.
You can’t predict when this inflammation occurs and also you can’t say how long it can last. It is totally unpredictable and the effect also varies from person to person and also in same person too. Sometimes it can be mild; on the other hand it can be severe. You can even also feel relief some time.
Recognizing narcolepsy is very difficult. It is a very rare condition.
A narcolepsy sufferer can be diagnosed with this condition, only after suffering the symptoms for 10 to 15 years.
Basically narcolepsy is a neurological disorder. Sleep signals are sent to your body at an unpredictable and inappropriate time.
This situation happens during the times when you have involved in quite activities, such as attending a meeting or watching a movie.
The follow are some signs of narcolepsy. It is best to consult a sleep doctor immediately, if you experience any one of these signs.
Falling asleep during daytime within a moment!
Feeling sleepy throughout the day is the most common symptom of narcolepsy. But, most of the people mistake narcolepsy as “falling asleep randomly”. If this statement characterizes you, then it is better for you to consult a sleep doctor.
Dreaming during early sleep cycle!
For a normal person, dreams don’t occur until 60-90 minutes after falling asleep. If you start dreaming within 10 to 20 minutes as soon as you fall asleep, then you may have the condition of narcolepsy. Dreaming during early sleep cycle is one of the most revealing symptoms of narcolepsy.
West nile virus is a dreadful mosquito borne disease which is most prevalent in warmer places.
As the temperature rises the growth in mosquito population rapidly increases.
These mosquitoes not only transmit west nile virus but also spread equine encephalomyelitis, a virus which causes sleeping sickness.
West nile virus not only influences people but also show its effect on birds, horses, and some other mammals.
Mostly humans are caught with this virus.
How to identify the west nile virus disease?
West nile virus does not show any signs and symptoms as such when you have mild effect of this virus but if it is severe then the following signs will help you to identify this virus:
- When you have mild effect, then you can feel slight head ache and low fever and body pains. Some times you can find some rashes over the skin with swollen lymph’s.
- The severe form of west nile virus shows high fever, weakness in muscles and stiffness in neck.
- If the infection is much severe then it may lead to paralysis and also there are chances to drive the affected person to coma.
Asbestos exposure causes mesothelioma cancer, which is a very rare cancer on the earth.
Asbestos is a fibrous material and a deadly carcinogen that causes mesothelioma and asbestosis.
It has been established that there is a link between mesothelioma cancer and asbestos exposure, but the symptoms of this disease cannot be seen until years or even decades (usually 30-40 years after exposure to asbestos).
However, the first case of mesothelioma with a link to asbestos exposure was confirmed in early 1898.
Almost 60-75% of the individuals will get mesothelioma with a history of exposure to asbestos although there are some incidents where the individuals suffered from mesothelioma without exposure to asbestos.
According to the research, workers of the construction industries are at highest risk of getting mesothelioma cancer due to inhalation of asbestos.
Depending on the location of the disease, stage of the disease, and patient’s age and health, there are several treatment options, which include chemotherapy, radiotherapy or radiation therapy, surgery, and palliative care.
As mesothelioma cancer is hard to control, National Cancer Institute is supporting to find new treatments and ways to use current and established treatments.
The spine’s shock absorbers are usually called as disks. These are the stretchable cushions that fit among vertebrae.
Usually herniated disk occurs in people between the ages of 30-40 years.
Herniated disks can be very much painful! When the herniated disk compresses against the nerve it will be very painful.
But typically this condition is silent. Most of the people who got the disease may never know it, as it doesn’t cause any pain.
Even if you don’t have back pain; there is a chance to be affected by herniated disk.
People with back pain can also be affected with this condition. But the two conditions differ with each other. So, treating the condition is essential to relieve from pain.
Non-traumatic discectomy to remove herniated disk material:
In this surgical procedure, local anesthesia will be given to the patient with the help of x-ray fluoroscopy. A small endoscopic tube is placed through the skin of your back, i.e. in between the vertebrae and into the herniated disk space.
Small surgical attachments are sent down through the hallow center of the probe to eliminate a section of offending disk.
There are different pattern of difficulties that affect the people with dyslexia.
The dyslexic persons might have any of the following problems:
- Dyslexic people may see the text showing to jump on a page.
- People with dyslexia may see some alphabets as upside down or backwards.
- For them, the alphabets may look muddled up and out of order.
- Dyslexic people may not say the difference between the alphabets of similar shape like “c” and “e” and “o.”
- Also people with dyslexia may not say the difference between alphabets of similar shape with different orientation like “b” and “p” and “d” and “q.”
- Some dyslexic people might look the alphabets and words as all grouped together.
- For some people, who have dyslexia, the words and alphabets appear totally backwards, such as “pool” as “loop.”
- For some dyslexic people the alphabets and words look okay, but they get a severe headache and feel sick in stomach when they read.
- Some dyslexic people can be able to see the alphabets correctly, but unable to connect the alphabets and sound out the word they make and recognize them.
