Two new potential drugs can restore the social ability in schizophrenics as they have unique effects on dopaminergic signalling. In rats that displayed schizophrenia, social behavior is restored with these drugs according to the thesis from the Sahlgrenska Academy.
Schizophrenia is a psychiatric disorder that include hallucinations and delusions. The treatment for schizophrenic patients hardly relieves impairment of social function. If the patient has to lead a satisfactory life, new drugs are used. These two drugs can relieve lack of ability to interact socially in schizophrenic patients.
