4 Steps To Cope With Sleep Paralysis

This type of condition during sleep is actually termed sleep paralysis. It is more common after experiencing periods of sleep deprivation.

However, don’t worry if you have this kind of sleep problem.

Fortunately there are certain things that you can do to reduce the number of episodes or intensity of the problem.

  • Step 1: First of all identifying the condition is crucial. Actually, sleep paralysis acts differently on different individuals. The most common symptoms of sleep paralysis include suffocation in sleep, overwhelming feelings, and other frightening experiences.
  • Step 2: The next step to minimize or coping with sleep paralysis includes identifying the triggers of sleep paralysis. As already said, different persons have different experiences of sleep paralysis. Identify your triggers of sleep paralysis and stay away from them as much as possible.
  • Step 3: Maintain healthy eating and sleeping habits. Ensure that you stick to a good sleep routine and get enough sleep every day.
  • Step 4: When you encounter the problem or if you find yourself undergoing symptoms of sleep paralysis, sit up and stare at a bright light for some time. Take bigger breaths in order to wake up yourself from a sleep paralysis episode.
