Essential measures to follow at home

Using apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is the most common remedy that has been used by many for years to treat nail fungus. The concept here is quite simple; nail fungus cannot survive in acidic surroundings.  So, take a quarter glass of apple cider vinegar and mix it with equal parts of water.

Immerse your feet in a bowl with solution of apple cider vinegar for about 15 to 20 minutes and then dry your feet with clean towel.

Repeat this process for at least twice a day, preferably morning and night for at least 2 to 6 months continuously.

Using hydrogen peroxide

It is believed that hydrogen peroxide contains certain toxic substances, which reduces the chances of fungus survival. Some people believe that applying good quantity of pure hydrogen peroxide at 3% directly on affected parts of skin can help to decrease the intensity of infection. However, if you have any doubts regarding this particular remedy, take the necessary suggestion from your doctor.

Using tea tree and lavender oil

The antibiotic properties of certain essential oils like lavender and tea tree oil can help to fight against atrocious infections.

Take equal amounts of lavender and tea tree oil on a clean cotton swab. Dab it on the infection and the surrounding areas of the infection for at least twice or thrice a day.
