Eating Lots Of Whole Grains Could Ward Off High Blood Pressure

According to a new study, eating lots of whole grains may help to keep blood pressure in control.

In the study, men who consumed more amounts of whole grains were 19 percent less likely to develop high blood pressure than men who consumed less amount of whole grains.

Dr. Alan J. Flint of the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston and his colleagues note in their report that for refined grains, outer coating is removed and for whole grains bran and germ are retained, so they are rich in many nutrients.

US guidelines recommended recently that people should get a tleast 3 ounces or 8 grams of whole grains daily.
