But since fruits are high on the sugar content, one must keep track of the amount of fruits that a kid intakes each day. Vegetable too are very important for making a kid healthy and fit.
Vegetables contain many important vitamins and nutrients like Vitamin C, Vitamin D and also Vitamin B. Green and leafy vegetables are also considered great for kids as they have in them antioxidants which are important for everyone.
Dairy Product Facts
Calcium is an important nutrient required for making strong bones, especially by kids and milk is one of the most calcium rich sources. For the growth of a child, calcium plays a very important role and helps in the development of muscles as well as bone strength. Thus dairy products should form a vital part of a kid’s diet. It is a fact that a kid needs three cups of dairy products on an average per day.
Grains should also be included in a kid’s diet as they provide for the fiber content requirement of a body and also helps to prevent constipation. In fact whole grains like oatmeal, bran etc are preferred over refined grain like white bread and pastas etc.

For a kid’s health and nutrition, it is advised that fats and oils should be used as sparingly as possible. It is true that fats and oils contain important minerals and are hence important but one should know the different between good fats and bad fats. Kids should try and restrict their fat and oil consumption to 3 to 5 teaspoons per day.
