Know the Healthy Ways to Manage Type 2 Diabetes Naturally

It is a well-known fact that all diseases can be kept under check with a proper diet and regular exercise. A good diet and proper exercise is the best way to keep your diabetes under control. In Type II diabetes, your body stops producing insulin which leads consequently to very high sugar levels and additional weight gain.

Healthy Ways to Manage Type 2 Diabetes

First let us see the kind of diet you should be following:

Cut Down on the Sugar

It is the ground rule of diabetes that your meal should be low on sugar.  You should specially avoid refined sugar, or even indulging in dessert items. Other than this, your meal should be a well-balanced one with all essential nutrients tucked in the diet chart.

 Low Fat Diet

A high fatty diet is bad for basically anyone, but especially people who suffer from Type II diabetes since it can end up giving you a stroke. Replace your red meat with fish since fish is rich in Omega 3 that is good for your body. Also avoid saturated or processed meat like bacon.

Stretch the Starch

It is advised that you should at least have starch in one of your meals since your body converts starch into glucose; starch increases your nutrition since its breakdown time is very slow. But this does not mean that you indulge in fried fast foot or potato chips.

Exercise is as important as your diet is in order for you to keep your diabetes in check.

Do weights at least Thrice a Week

Doing weight training helps your blood sugar level to stay down since it circulates more blood in your body.

 Increase your overall Activity

Take the stairs instead of the lift, carry whatever you can, and walk as much as possible for the simple reason that it will keep you and your body healthy and fit.

Workout with Others

Working out with people who suffer from diabetes will help you since it will keep you motivated and those people will not let you fall behind as well. There are many such groups who exercise together.

 Set Specific and Attainable Goals

If you set goals that are specific, you will have a good focus, and will also know how to achieve that goal. Furthermore, attainable goals will give you a sense of satisfaction once they are achieved and you will not give up unlike that if you make unrealistic goals.

If you have a healthy diet and a good exercise regime, then without doubt, you will be able to keep your diabetes under control.
