For any person who is losing hair at an excessive rate, hair transplant surgery might seem like a really attractive way since it helps you face the world once again with confidence and of course more hair! But are you aware of the various side effects of hair transplant surgery? Yes, sadly it’s true that not everything that shines like gold is in fact gold. Same is true for hair regrowth operation. There are many after effects of this treatment of hair transplant surgery and to know about them, you can go through the following part of the article.

Thinning

Yes, one of the most common after effect of a hair transplant operation is thinning of the hair. Anyone who has already got this operation done might agree that the original hair on the scalp begins to get thin after the operation. But thickness of the hair comes back after a few months so there is nothing to worry about as there is no personal damage.

Bleeding

A post operative condition of hair transplant surgery is bleeding. A person might experience a little bit of bleeding and this can be stopped by applying a bit of pressure on the affected area. In some rare cases, bleeding might still not stop and the surgeon would be required to do stitching of the wounds to stop the bleeding.

Pain

Most of the people who have got a hair transplant operation done might not experience any major pain but for those who may, a mild pain killer such as Tylenol could prove to be of help and the pain would eventually die off. This post operative condition is not too much to worry about.

Swelling

Another side effect of a hair regrowth surgery is swelling. People may experience swelling around the forehead area and even near the eyes. This condition lasts only for a few initial days but in some cases the swelling becomes severe and a black eye may result.

Hiccups

Hiccups are rare after surgery side effect of a hair transplant procedure and occur with only about 5 percent of the people. Doctors might prescribe medication to those who experience this.

Infections

Infections might occur only in those cases where antibiotics are not given before and after the surgery and thus they are quite rare. But in case of any infection, see your surgeon immediately and follow the medication prescribed.

Being healthy and having good nutrition is vital for each and every person and especially for those who are in their growth and development years. It is very important for teenagers to look after their health and diet so as to ensure that they remain healthy and confident. Many teenagers these days are getting inclined towards consuming junk food and do not engage in physical activities. This results in poor health and low nutrition. Here, we have some good health tips for teenagers.

Avoid junk food consumption: It is a fact that 9 out of every 10 teenagers consume some or the other kind of junk food every day. This is quite alarming as junk foods are higher in salt, sugar, fat than food cooked at home and do not contain the amount of fiber which is needed by a teenager on per day basis. Consuming junk food such as fizzy drinks, burgers, pizzas, potato chips etc can result in gaining of excess weight and make a teenager obese. Thus junk food consumption should be decreased considerably.

Changing your eating habits another good healthy suggestion for teens is to change the eating habits and environment. Teenagers must try and select healthier and nutritious food items from the school canteen menu rather than high saturated fat diets. One must also select fewer processed foods while shopping at grocery stores. It is always better to eat most of the meals at home.

Change the thoughts about food: A lot of people have several myths about ‘healthy and nutritious’ food. Most of them make food choices because of these false beliefs. What one can do is that they can replace ‘fast’ foods by whole-wheat breads, cereals, wholegrain muffins and fruits.

Here are some tips and suggestions to improve your diet:

Go easy on the amount of fizzy drinks that you have. Rather go for natural drinks like coconut water, no-sugar drinks and a lot of water!

If you are in a hurry and do not have time to cook, pick up a fruit like an apple, a banana or an orange rather than going for chips or burgers.

Never skip important meals like breakfast or dinners thinking that they would help you lose weight. In fact skipping meals makes you go for binge-eating later on and hence increasing the calorie intake.

Reduce the size of the meals.

Skin pigmentation is one of the most common skin problems which are divided into many categories and types. The pigmentation of the skin can occur at any age or any stage in life and most of these skin problems are practically harmless. In fact most of the types of skin pigmentation disorders are treatable as well. If you want to know about the kinds of pigmentation occurring on the skin, then you can read the following part of the article:

Freckles

Freckles are one of the most common kinds of a skin pigmentation problem which is faced by almost every Caucasian individual. A freckle is nothing but a cluster of Melanin and is triggered due to the presence of gene variant dominant Melanocrotin-1 receptor on the skin, especially when it is directly exposed to sunlight.

Age Spots

The second most category of skin pigmentation is skin spots due to aging. These disorders on the skin are termed as age spots or liver spots. As the name suggests, liver spots occur as we age because one’s body’s ability to protect against Ultraviolet rays diminishes. And due to this, melanin is produced by the skin in patches.

Birthmarks

Birthmarks are also counted in the category of skin pigmentation issues and occur either at the time of birth or a little after that. Birthmarks can be of different colors, shapes and sizes but are generally brown and black in color. Birthmarks can be treated if a person is facing embarrassment due to them through cosmetic procedures.

Hyper Pigmentation

As the name suggests, hyper pigmentation is a type of pigmentation occurring on the skin and is caused in the case when a person’s body is producing a lot of melanin. This condition can be treated by taking proper medication or bleaching treatment.

Melasma

Melasma is a skin pigmentation disorder which appears at the time of pregnancy and may or may not fade after the birth of the child. In some rare cases, Melasma, which is also known as Chloasma, might not fade away but persist in a lighter form.

Port Wine Stains

Port Wine Stains are harmless pigmentation issues which are generally red or purple in color and are usually found to be occurring on the face of a person and hence can be very embarrassing for some. Some laser treatment methods can help to remove or lighten these spots.

Immune deficiency disease is also known as immunodeficiency disorders and occurs when the body’s immune system becomes weak and its response is reduced or even absent in some cases. This immunosuppression occurs when special white blood cells do not work in the manner that they should or in the case when the body doesn’t produce enough number of antibodies.

Most people do not get to know the occurrence of this immune system disorder until they are affected by some other infection or disease. There are many signs and symptoms which can help in detecting the prevalence of immune deficiency disease. To know about them you can go through the following given information:

Conjunctivitis: Conjunctivitis is an eye condition in which eyes become red and an eye discharge is observed. This is a condition which can be considered a sign of immunodeficiency disorder. This condition is observed in many people who are eventually diagnosed of immune system problems. To treat this condition, monthly antibiotics are needed.

Diarrhea: Diarrhea is a problem which is commonly found in those whose immune system is weak and non responsive. Diarrhea is generally caused by infections and even overgrowth of normal bacteria which are found in the gastrointestinal tract. If a person is experiencing bloating or pain then his/her stool samples must be tested. If the reports come out to be positive, then antibiotic treatment may be recommended.

Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus infection (MRSA): This is another condition which, if found occurring in a person might be a clear warning sign that the person is suffering from an immunodeficiency disorder or disease. Staphylococcus is a bacterium which is present on the skin of a person or even in the nose of people. This bacterium can result in infections in people who have suppressed immune systems. MRSA must be treated with different types of antibiotics as it is a condition which is difficult to treat.

Recurrent Sinus and chest infections: A chest infection or a sinus infection may prove to be symptoms of immune deficiency diseases and must be treated in the early stages to avoid serious disorders. If these infections are not treated early on, they may even cause some kind of a permanent damage. The signs of these infections include nasal secretions and changes in the color of sputum. They can be treated by regular antibiotic therapy or treatment.

The Hippocratic Oath states that all medical professionals are obligated to provide the best care possible and never do their patients harm. Unfortunately, medics are fallible, mistakes do happen and sometimes, medical negligence may indeed cause you harm and damage your body.

It’s a tough situation to be in, as the healthcare officials that you have placed your trust in may have betrayed you, depending on the particulars of the situation. This article goes through the steps you need to take if your medical procedure has gone wrong.

Preliminary steps

Healthcare officials will respond to a mistake made in a medical procedure by doing their best to reverse or remedy the situation. You should be informed as soon as possible that a mistake has been made, and that the doctors are doing everything in their power to help.

You may not have been satisfied by the level of care provided after they have made a mistake. Also, if you’ve been cursed with negligent hospital staff, they may act as if nothing is wrong, or try and put some distance between themselves and the problem.

If they have failed to address the issue, you must start preparing a formal complaint to the hospital authorities.

Making your complaint

Firstly, make sure that you have all the evidence needed for your complaint. You must always try the right channels before you move onto consulting a solicitor. Submit your complaint to the hospital authorities, or the Care Quality Commission, who will decide what can be done about your troubles.

If this leads to nowhere or the board is not resolving your problem swiftly enough, you may want to consult a solicitor. Usually, it’s best to go with solicitors who are well versed and experienced in your particular area of concern, like Jefferies Solicitors.

Don’t be discouraged from going all the way

The healthcare officials responsible for your unfortunate situation may try to dissuade you from making your complaint and getting a solicitor involved. You may also be discouraged by fears that your continuing treatment could be affected by the fact that you’ve lodged a complaint.

However, it is important to keep reminding yourself that what you are doing is responsible. You must do the right thing, not just for yourself, but to set an example and make sure this kind of mistake doesn’t occur again, and that healthcare officials will be more careful in the future.

Sugar diabetes is considered Type 1 diabetes in which there is high sugar or glucose level in the blood and not enough of it is found in the cells of a person’s body. Type 2 diabetes happens when the cells of the body become resistant to the insulin which is being produced in the body. In both the cases, the body cells do not get the required amount of glucose and thus the body shows almost the same warning signs and symptoms. To know about the early symptoms of sugar diabetes, you can go through the following information:

Regular Need to Urinate

If you have recently observed your frequency need to go to the bathroom to urinate, then this can be a warning sign for sugar diabetes. Urination becomes very frequent in case the glucose level in the blood is very high and thus this is a clear sign of Type 1 diabetes.

This happens because insulin becomes almost ineffective and the kidneys are unable to filter the glucose to the blood which causes a full bladder and therefore the need to urinate.

Excessive Thirst

Feeling dehydrated almost all the time and experiencing unquenchable thirst is also a clear sign of Type 1 diabetes or sugar diabetes. In fact if this need to drink water is going together with the frequent need to urinate, you must get your diabetes checked ASAP! The reason for excessive thirst is because the body is squeezing extra water from the body and this results in frequent urination. Thus more water is required to quench the thirst.

Weakness and Tiredness

If you have been feeling more tired lately and there is constant experience of weakness, then you might want to get your glucose level checked as this is a symptom of sugar diabetes. This sign occurs because the cells have become short of energy because insulin is ineffective and thus this causes fatigue and weakness.

Weight Loss

Have you been experiencing unexpected loss in your body weight lately? If yes then it is a sign of sugar diabetes. In type 1 diabetes, this symptom is very common and it happens because the pancreas stop making insulin and body keeps looking for a source of energy.

Other symptoms:

Dry or blotchy skin is a sign

Blurred vision occurs

Common cuts, bruises and infections which take time to heal

Thus above given are some of the early symptoms of sugar diabetes.
